Umpqua Valley Mushrooms Grow Kit Instructions

You’ve received your block in the mail or picked one up from a farmers market!

You should see the white mycelium growing throughout the whole block, at this stage it’s fully colonized.

Initiate/start the fruiting/growing stage you cut two separate slices about 2 inches long, towards the top of the block on the side of the bag that is single layered (the other side is the top of the bag folded over, leave this taped down).

Keep at 55°- 75° F and mist the bag with tap water 3 times a day or as often as possible, if you miss a day, it is not ruined. Try to not mist the mushrooms directly; it will make them turn brown or yellow. Instead spray the bag itself, around the fruit. The evaporation will keep the high humid environment that the mushrooms like. They prefer 80-90% humidity. Perfect kitchen counter, somewhere you see it and remember to spray it.

In 2-3 weeks or when mushrooms have some “teeth” twist and pull off in 1 piece, enjoy the fruits of your labor!

For a 2nd flush, fold the extra part of the bag the other way, and make 2 new slices on the other side. You may tape these cuts after you harvest and try for a 3rd flush by cutting “slits” or slits on the short ends.
